Soswaewon


Soswaewon was a garden built by Yang San-bo(1503-1557) to give up renounce his success and to retire into nature, after Jungam Jo Kwang-jo(1482-1519), his teacher, was sent to exile to Neungju due to Kimyo Sahwa or Disorder and was dead there.

 


Sikyungjung


A curvy tile-roofed building with 2 kans on the front and flank. It has a quite unique structure that a room is placed on one side and floors on its front and flank.

 


Songgangjung


Songgang Jung Chul was promoted to a higher position(Daesahun) in the 17th year of King Sungjo(1584) but he had to resign his office next year owing to the heated faction between Dongin and Seoin.

 




Myunangjung


Myunangjung Song Sun was born at Bongsan, Damyang-gun in the 24th year of King Sungjong of the Choson Dynasty and his other name is Sucho and a pen name is Kichon.





Myungokhun Garden


Oh Hee-do. His other name is Deukwon and pen name is Myunggok. He passed Samasi(a kind of exams) in 1602 and the civil service exams in 1623(the 1st year of King Injo of the Chosun Dynasty).




Doksujung Garden

Built by Jun Shin-min. It is said that he filled various Government posts late in the Corea Dynasty but after the fall of the Corea Dynasty, he decided not to serve two countries with Dumundong 72 scholars and then retired into here.



Hwanbyukdang & Jodae(Bamboo Pipe)


It stands on a high hill in the east of upper Kwangjuho Lake. Built by Sachon Kim Yun-je(1501∼1572). After filling various Government posts, including the magistrate of 13 counties, he retired into home and made every effort to educate his pupils, such as Songgang Jung Chul and Sahadang Kim Sung-won.




Kaesunsa Temple's Jisukdeung Lantern

According to 『Chosun Kojuk Dobo』published in the Japanese Ruling Time, this lantern was buried up to a middle prop until it exposed in 1965. 『Kukbo Dorok』published in 1960 finally shows its foundation stone.





Miam Diary


Written by Miam Yu Hui-chun(1513∼1577), who was a scholar in King Sunjo of the Choson Dynasty. Existent diary is a record from Oct. 1, 1567 when King Sunjo ascended to the throne(1567) to May 13, 1577 of the 10th year of King Sunjo but there are some pages in the middle missing.
